Discovering New Podcasts and Managing Subscriptions in RSS Podcasts
RSS Podcasts offers a powerful and flexible Podcast Directory to help you discover new shows, search by keyword, browse by category, or import your own feeds. Whether you're new to podcasts or migrating from another app, the directory is your hub for discovery and management.
How to Open the Podcast Directory
- Tap the Podcasts icon in the upper navigation bar.
- Tap the ➕ Plus icon to open the Podcast Directory.
Directory Tabs Overview
The Podcast Directory has three main tabs for easy navigation:
- Recommended – Curated suggestions based on popularity and listener trends.
- What’s Hot – A dynamic list of trending and currently popular podcasts.
- More... – Full access to all discovery, search, and import tools.
More... Menu Options
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find under the More... tab:
- Categories
- Browse podcasts organized by genre (e.g., Arts, Business, Comedy, Technology), listed alphabetically.
- List by Network
- Explore shows grouped by major podcast networks such as NPR, Wondery, and more.
- Search by Keyword
- Use the search bar to find podcasts by title, topic, or creator.
- Previous Searches will appear below for quick reference.
- Enter URL Manually
- Paste a direct RSS feed URL to subscribe to a private, premium, or unlisted podcast.
- If credentials are required, RSS Podcasts will prompt you to enter them after submission.
Import Options
OPML Import
Perfect for users migrating from another podcast app.
- Tap OPML Import
- Use the search bar to find your OPML file
- Navigate using the file browser tabs:
- Recents
- Shared
- Browse (for folders on your device)
- Import from Cloud
- Quick Import – Add a single audio file to your Imported Shows section.
- Full Import – Assign an imported file to an existing podcast in your library.
Directory Region Settings
To customize discovery results based on your location:
- Go to the Settings section within the Podcast Directory.
- Choose Automatic region detection, or manually select a specific country/region to tailor your recommendations.
